Minki Balinki work with Alice + Olivia
Minki Balinki recently worked on this interior installation of red roses, for the newly opened Alice + Olivia flagship store in London.
Red roses have been a trademark of Alice + Olivia since their early days. Minki Balinki has worked with them previously, once creating a window filled from floor to ceiling with red roses for Harrods.
For this particular project, Minki Balinki worked with artist and sculptor Gareth Knowles to create a backdrop of large red roses for the store interior.
Working from a digital file of the designs, the roses were produced in polystyrene, which is repurposed after use as a building material. The roses were then sculpted by hand and sanded, coated with resin, and then finally hand painted.
